Nohabe Locke Silk acidic hair rinse granulate

What it is? How to prepare? How to use?

Nohabe Locke Silk is especially made for hair soap users. As the soap is a bit basic and the scalp is acidic, it is very important to use an acidic rinse after washing it with soap to make the sclap back to normal pH. Locke Silk is a userfreindly solution, portable and easy-to-make.

Inside the granulat

Locke Silk is made of citric acid, common mallow root powder and silk amino-acid. You can also choose an essential oil as a fragrance.

Citric acid

Citric acid is a weak organic acid found in citrus fruits. It is a natural preservative and is also used to add an acidic (sour) taste to foods and soft drinks. In biochemistry, it is important as an intermediate in the citric acid cycle and therefore occurs in the metabolism of almost all living creatures.

Ground Marshmallow root

Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis) root is a perennial herb that’s native to Europe, Western Asia, and Northern Africa. It’s been used as a folk remedy for thousands of years to treat digestive, respiratory, and skin conditions. Its healing powers are due in part to the mucilage it contains.

Marshmallow root is great for soothing and relieving your scalp and hair but it’s also super slippery so it will help remove tangles, knots and your hair from coiling around itself.

Silk amino acid powder

Silk’s amino acids are obtained from the cocoon of the silkworm.

The amino acids themselves are the binding agent that is found within the filaments of silk. The most common way to collect both silk and this amino acid is through boiling. When the cocoon is boiled, the silk and amino acids separate, allowing for each to be collected. When added to hair care products, silk protein has several benefits. It easily bonds with and strengthens hair that has been damaged making it a useful addition to hair strengthening products.

The silk protein bonds with the keratin found in your hair. This bonding creates a protective layer that helps keep moisture from escaping while also adding luster to your hair’s overall appearance.
